MJAS
Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti started as a collective of women which came into being as an organization in 1995 to fight for Violence against Women. The collective believes in the leadership of women at all levels of action for social change. It works with the rural and urban poor, dalit, deprived women and elected women representatives in Central Rajasthan. The Samiti has consistently carried out synchronized efforts against women’s discrimination to ensure achievement of their constitutional and human rights. Along with providing assistance in the cases of violence, desertion, social practices and caste based- discrimination and land related issues, MJAS has been flagging issues and concerns of the women’s movement in Rajasthan since 1980s.
We work on various issues such as Female Foeticide, Infanticide, communalism, cast-ism, witch hunting, rape, domestic violence, violence against women, sexual harassment, women property rights, panchayati raj, livelihood, child rights, women leadership etc.
